Dear August… Let’s Make This a Good One! β˜•πŸ’œ

New pages.
New possibilities.
New little wins waiting to be celebrated.

Welcome, August.

Well… we made it!

Welcome to August!

I have to admit, the very first thing that popped into my head this morning was, “Don’t you even think about it, August!” πŸ˜‚ Seriously! July already had enough fun at my expense. Between getting sick, running a fever, feeling dizzy, spending days curled up on the couch, and poor Sir KK checking on me every few minutes and then deciding I had slept long enough and sounding the siren with his meows… I think we’ve had enough excitement for one month!

So, August… how about we make a little deal? You play nice, and I’ll promise to try not to complain… well… I’ll try. πŸ˜‰

Truthfully, I’m not asking for anything huge this month. I don’t need fireworks or some giant life-changing moment. I’m hoping for more peace, more smiles, more laughter, and more visits with great friends. I want one of those months where you look back and think, “You know what? That was a pretty good month.” I also refuse to carry that stomach bug into August with me! I woke up this morning still feeling a little “meh,” but nope… it can stay right back in July where it belongs. I’m packing peace instead. I worked too hard to find it, and I’m bringing it with me wherever I go.

One thing I really want to do this month is celebrate the little wins. We spend so much time chasing the big goal that we forget how many tiny little victories it takes to get there. We tell ourselves we’ll celebrate when we’ve lost the weight, finished the project, cleaned the house, saved the money, or finally reached whatever goal we’ve been chasing. But what about all those little steps that got us there? They deserve celebrating too! Maybe today you drank more water. Maybe you went for a walk. Maybe you crossed one thing off your to-do list. Maybe you simply got out of bed when your body or your mind was telling you not to. Those are wins too!

I know I’m guilty of looking ahead instead of looking around. I check one thing off my list and immediately start thinking about the next thing. Sound familiar? πŸ˜‚ This month I want to slow down just enough to say, “Hey… good job.” Not because everything is finished, but because I showed up. I kept going. And honestly… that’s worth celebrating.

I’m sure I’ll still have a to-do list a mile long because let’s face it… it wouldn’t be my life if I didn’t! πŸ˜‚ If my body lets me, I’ll tackle it one thing at a time. If not… those things will still be there tomorrow. That’s another lesson I’m finally learning. Everything doesn’t have to be done today. Sometimes resting is productive too.

So, Dear August… please be kind. Be kind to me. Be kind to my friends. Be kind to everyone reading this. Fill our days with little reasons to smile, little reasons to laugh, little reasons to keep going, and lots of opportunities to celebrate those little wins because one day we’ll look back and realize they were never little at all. They were the building blocks that helped us become the people we were always meant to be.

So before I finish my coffee, I have one question for you…

What’s one little win you’re hoping to celebrate this month?

I’d love to celebrate it right alongside you. πŸ’œβ˜•

Until next time…

Be kind to yourself.

Celebrate the little wins.

Keep believing in yourself, even on the days it’s hard.

And never forget…

You Matter! πŸ’œ

Love Always,

β˜• Shelly
