Coffee With Shelly: The Random Things You Probably Didn’t Know
Sometimes we spend so much time talking about the big things in life that we forget about the little things that make us who we are. The struggles, the lessons, and the challenges are all part of our story, but so are the silly little things. The things that make us laugh. The things that make us say, “Yep, that’s just me.” 😂
So today’s coffee chat is going to be a little different. No heavy conversations. No deep life lessons. Just a little peek into the random things that make me, well… me. ☕💜
Of course, we have to start with Sir Kit Kat because honestly, I could talk about that little guy forever. 🐾 He has become such a huge part of my everyday life. Whether he is rolling around on his purple rug like he owns the place, interrupting my work because apparently I have been sitting too long, or just making me laugh with his silly personality, he always finds a way to bring a little joy into my day.
And then there are my businesses. If you get me started talking about A Spice Affair or Super Patch, you might want to grab another coffee because I could probably keep going for a while. 😂 I love what I’m building, and I love the people I get to meet along the way.
Now, if there is one thing nobody should be surprised about by now, it’s my love for purple. 💜 I’m pretty sure anyone who walks into my home now immediately knows what my favourite colour is. Between the rug, the decorations, and all the little touches, purple has officially moved in. And honestly? I love it.
I’ve also discovered that I have some pretty funny habits. I am not someone who can just sit still and watch TV. Nope. My brain apparently needs a second job. 😂 If I’m watching something, I’m usually doing something else at the same time. Folding something, working on something, creating something… just sitting there doing nothing feels impossible.
I’m also learning to enjoy trying new things. Lately, I’ve been having fun experimenting with different foods. Some are easier than others… and then there was the rutabaga. 😂 Let’s just say peeling and chopping that thing was practically a workout on its own! But I love that I’m still curious and willing to try something new.
Speaking of new things, I recently started watching The Pitt after finishing ER. I love getting caught up in a good show, although I will admit I’m usually doing something else while I’m watching it. See? There’s that whole “can’t sit still” thing again. 😂
If someone gave me a day with absolutely no responsibilities, you would think I’d have some huge exciting plan. Honestly? I’d probably try to sleep in, enjoy a quiet day at home, have some coffee, and then somehow end up helping someone else with whatever they’re doing. Because apparently that’s just who I am. 😂 Maybe an adventure would be fun though… I’m not ruling that out.
One thing I really believe everyone should try is new foods. You never know what you might discover! There is something fun about stepping outside your usual choices and finding a new favourite.
And the little things that instantly improve my mood? Easy.
The smell of coffee in the morning. ☕
A Sir Kit Kat cuddle. 🐾
A little sunshine coming through the window. 🌞
Music playing while I’m cooking or working out. 🎶
And yes… anything purple. 💜
Something people might not know about me?
I like to joke that I’m a big old bully… but let’s be honest, nobody believes that. 😂 I’m actually a big softie. I care deeply, I love hard, and I probably worry more than I should sometimes.
So today wasn’t about sharing a big lesson or talking about overcoming something.
It was just about remembering that life is made up of all these little pieces that make us who we are.
The serious moments matter.
The hard moments matter.
But so do the silly moments. The random habits. The favourite colours. The cats who think they own the house. The music that makes you smile.
Those little things?
They matter too. 💜
Until next time, grab your coffee, find your little moments of joy, and remember…
Life is made better by the little things.
Stay kind.
Stay grateful.
And always remember… YOU Matter!
With love,
Shelly 💜
